Even for die-hard mixed martial arts fans, the super bowl is usually an event not to miss, if only for the commercials. This year, MMA fans may watch more for the commercials than anything else just to get a glimpse at top female fighter Gina Carano.
According to Damon Martin of MMAWeekly.com, Carano will be one of the first MMA fighters to be a part of a national commercial campaign. This MMA star who recently made news as possibly being the first female to fight in the UFC is set to appear in a Pepsi commercial debuting this Sunday, Feb. 1. during the Super Bowl.
Martin also points out that this won’t be her first TV appearance, sighting her role on “American Gladiators.”
If you can follow, the commercial is described as a “Refresh Anthem” starring Carano and Bruce Lee with “hip-hop artist Will.I.Am doing an updated version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young,’ ” writes Martin.
