Following his victories over Jason MacDonald and Ryan Jensen, Gouveia is set to return to the octagon at UFC 95 in London, England this Saturday.

He had the following to say about his opponent, Nate Marquardt:

”I have much respect for Nate, he is a great fighter and always trained hard to give all his best in the octagon. After Anderson Silva, he is the best at middleweight. For me, he is the main candidate for the title, and a victory against him would be great. I’m training harder than ever for this fight. I’m feeling stronger with each fight since I went down in weight. I fought my whole career at 205, so I feel stronger than my opponents”.

He then discussed to future of the middleweight division, the way he sees it:

”All these guys getting down make the category even more exciting. Each category in the UFC is tough, but (Wanderlei) Silva and Bisping getting down makes it as good as any other in the sport… We’ll have very competitive fights ahead.”

”I’m focused on Marquardt, I’m not seeing anything beyond him. He is a tough athlete, but, once I defeat him, I don’t see anyone between me and Anderson Silva. He is next. 2008 was a good year for the ATT, and 2009 will be even better, even more if Thiago (Alves) win this belt and I win a title this year. We’re excited and ready for any challenge.”
