MMA blogs and forums are already abuzz about the upcoming UFC 127 event on February 26th, with welterweights BJ Penn and Jon Fitch the headline attraction on the main card. Tickets immediately sold out when they went on sale (the fastest ever that tickets sold out, topping UFC 110 and UFC 115), with part of the draw being the unique location in Sydney, Australia. It will be the second time that Sydney has hosted a UFC event, with UFC 110 the first held there.

As far as the odds on the main card fights, Fitch is favored versus Penn (-200 vs. +160) but those odds will likely change in coming days. Fitch is no fan favorite and BJ Penn is still a very popular fighter, which may lead to late money coming in on Penn despite his uneven record of late (two bad losses versus Frankie Edgar but also a first round KO of Matt Hughes in his last fight at UFC 123). While Fitch will almost certainly be the favorite going into the fight it wouldn’t be shocking to see his line drop to -150 or so right before the fight.

As with any fight, be sure to check the lines at various online sportsbooks before getting your wager down. Lines for various sporting events can vary widely from book to book, so don’t just sign up at one and bet there without checking around first. For UFC fights, some books also offer more wagers and options than others, so your mileage will definitely vary from book to book. It’s completely free to sign up at every online sportsbook so there’s no reason not to, especially if it means you can find much better lines on your favorite fighter.

Another advantage of signing up at multiple sites is that you can cash in on new player bonuses and other promotions. Most sites offer generous new player cash bonuses that can be used to bet on sports as well as to play online casino games, poker, bingo, and other games. You’ll also be eligible for reload bonuses as well as other weekly and special promotions at each site, so it can definitely pay to spread your action around on multiple sportsbooks, as it can give you access to both better lines and better bonuses.
