Emelianenko wants to fight Lesnar.
M-1 issued an official statement stating respect for Lesnar “as an accomplished athlete and a talented fighter.” They would like to jointly promote a fight between Emelianenko and Lesnar, but they do not consider him to be the No. 1 heavyweight, and they feel that Lesnar would loose in the first round.

The November 17th issue of the Wrestlng Observer has the story, pointing out that he likely will not be heading to the UFC either.

This is disappointing news for fight fans, who saw Filho go 16-0 into his last fight.

It was also apparent that his head was simply “not there”, and will likely need psychiatric assistance if he is to ever return to the sport.

The news has leaked out that Anderson Silva, UFC Middleweight Champion, has begun training his boxing with world renowned trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach has been training former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski for some time now, and it’s intriguing to see Roach accept more MMA fighters.

This could create even more danger for Silva’s opponents on the feet, but could also be forewarning that Silva’s career could likely be cut short due to a desire to persue professional boxing.

The long-awaited fight between Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva will take place at UFC 94 on Saturday, Jan. 31.

The originally scheduled bout was to take place at UFC 89, but had to be postponned due to an injury that Silva recieved while training.

Following Damian Maia’s quick dismantling of Nate Quarry at UFC 91, he announced his desire for a fight with current Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

The UFC will return to London February 21, at the O2 arena. Terry Etim vs. Justin Buchholz is the only confirmed bout for this event, and it’s interesting that the UFC would announce an event without a major fight to hold together the card. This does leave many speculating as to who will headline, seeing as how in most European cards thus far, the UFC has tried to have a European fighter in the main event.

Kenny Florian left no doubt in anybody’s mind. After submitting an impressive-looking Joe Stevenson, he shouted this to the audience:

Following last night’s TKO victory over Randy Couture, the new Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar still faces many unanswered questions. Personally, I find it hard to feel like Lesnar is deserving of the belt. Had Couture not be MIA on his quest to fight Fedor Emilianenko, Nogueira and Mir would have been given title shots in his place.
