Jon Jones vs Quinton Jackson

On Saturday evening there will be no shortage of animosity between UFC 135’s main event combatants—Quinton ”Rampage” Jackson and Jon ”Bones” Jones. The lack of warmth for each other stems from Rampage’s accusation that Jon Jones has a mole inside Jackson’s camp relaying training information back to him and his manager; that, plus a whole slew of snarky remarks made back and forth between the tw… (Read more)

Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem

After the long overdue signing of one of the world’s top heavyweights, Alistair Overeem, the UFC provides him with his first test, and a stiff one at that—Brock Lesnar. This is the reason why MMA continues to outshine my favorite sport, boxing, because almost every fight is the next one we want to see. I can’t imagine a better heavyweight match up beyond Velasquez/Dos Santos than this one.

MMA blogs and forums are already abuzz about the upcoming UFC 127 event on February 26th, with welterweights BJ Penn and Jon Fitch the headline attraction on the main card. Tickets immediately sold out when they went on sale (the fastest ever that tickets sold out, topping UFC 110 and UFC 115), with part of the … (Read more)

Cain Velasquez vs Brock Lesnar 2 Now Inevitable

By Jonathan Stamey (January 12, 2011)

Yes, I’m aware that the match-up between Junior Dos Santos and Brock Lesnar has just been set, but as the axiom goes…”styles make fights” and this is a really bad style for Dos Santos. So in my mind we’re almost certainly headed for the rematch between Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar. In not so earth shattering logic I’ll explain why…

No I don’t have a crush on Brock

My reasoning has no b… (Read more)

This is a guest post from Damon

I originally thought that I was being contacted to write for Atlantic MMA because I was in the running for Ring Girl of the Month. When it was pointed out that I’m a guy, and not particularly that gorgeous, I realized the err in my ways and cancelled the Brazilian I had scheduled.

So allow myself to introduce…myself.

I am Damon. “Sports betting analyst”, handicapper an… (Read more)

Arlovski vs. Fedor Betting Lines

By Matt Scott (December 16, 2008)
Posted in MMA Betting had the odds at

Andrei Arlovski +400
Fedor Emelianenko -600

earlier today, and they’ve already shifted to

Andrei Arlovski +325
Fedor Emelianenko -475

If you plan on betting on Arlovski, my advice would be to wait, as the line will continue to move, likely with Arlovski as an even heavier underdog a couple weeks before the fight and with it being much closer around fight time.
