The Two Principles of Half Guard

Whether it be after a takedown or by guard pass, sometimes you’ll end up in what’s called the half guard.

It’s when you’re only able to capture one of your opponent’s legs. Control over one leg is better than control over, well, NO legs.

Without a doubt the hook is the most difficult punch to learn how to throw. Reason being that a hook thrown correctly involves a bunch a moving parts. The more parts you have to move in a coordinated fashion the easier it is to screw it up.
